HTC Desire Eye leaked, with ‘ultimate selfie’ front camera

We were just talking about the HTC One M8 Eye yesterday, but it seems that HTC is going one over everybody else with the HTC Desire Eye. This was leaked by @upleaks via Twitter, and there are some photos and specs that give a little light to may actually be the “ultimate selfie” device of this current generation of smartphones.

The HTC Desire Eye will be packing some serious hardware, if the leak can be confirmed. We might be looking at a phone that will sport the current generation favorite – the Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor (2.3Ghz) supported by 2GB of RAM pushing pixels to a 5.2-inch Full HD 1080p screen. Those are flagship level specs at this point folks. The leak also points to 32GB of internal storage and a removable 2400mAh battery.

But the kicker here will always be the selfie cam. This device is reportedly packing a 13MP/13MP camera combo – with the front-facing cam just as great as the back camera (can’t call it the “main camera” now because of that). The front cam will also have auto-focus and all good stuff you don’t usually have with your selfie camera.

Add this to the momentum building for what is also a camera-related product by HTC – a mobile personal camera to invade GoPro’s market – then we might be in for a great event on the rumored October 8 launch date. Time to get a little bit excited, as that date is just a few days away.

Tower Dwellers needs you to defend a fantasy kingdom

It was the Gandalf the Grey who said to a fire-breathing Balrog that "You shall not pass." But a new Android game (that doesn't have anything to do with Lord of the Rings) is taking up this battle cry as they depend on you, the mobile gamer, to not let the enemy pass as you try to reclaim their fantasy kingdom, one tower at a time. Welcome to the world of the Tower Dwellers.

A once thriving fantasy kingdom has been overrun by the forces of darkness. It is now your duty to lead an army of survivors to free your lands from the invaders. You need to build different towers and auxilliary buildings and let your warriors defend your property. And don't worry, you've got good magic on your side which you can use to assist your strategic armies as they fight your enemies. The game has a non-linear progression so you have the freedom to choose whatever direction or which territory to conquer, depending on the levels that you've unlocked.

The game also has an encyclopedia sandbox mode where you can practice your army building and attacking strategy before unleasing it in the main game mode. The graphics aren't state-of-the-art but is still pretty good considering. The warriors are cute, although you might hesitate sending them into battle since they are mighty adorable.

What makes the game a bit more interesting than other tower building and defense games is that while you're playing it, there's a funny narrated tale to go along with it. In fact, the developers have composed an ode just for you which you can find at the game app page on the Google Play Store where you can download Tower Dwellers for free.

Squarespace brings two Android apps to help manage your blog

Content management system Squarespace has been one of the go-to sites for people who want a customized and low-maintenance kind of website for their personal (and sometimes professional use). Squarespace is introducing two new apps on the Android platform to help both users and non-users manage content for their own blogs or sites: Squarespace Note and Squarespace Blog.

You don't need to sign up with or have a Squarespace account to be able to use the first app, Squarespace Notes. It basically functions just like any other note-taking app. It's a blank canvass where you can jot down your thoughts (which you can later on use for your blog or website). It's a no-frills black and white, unbranded app that will just let you focus on the things you need to jot down instead of bells and whistles. It can also sync your notes with Squarespace (if you have an account), Evernote, Dropbox and other related apps.

Notes

Meanwhile, Squarespace Blog is easy enough to understand from its name. It's a mobile app where you can easily upload content to your website. And for this, you really need a Squarespace since you need to link it somewhere. You can write and edit your posts using the CMS that you're familiar with if you've been using Squarespace for some time now. You can also reply and moderate comments on your site, even when you're not on your desktop, for example while commuting or at a gathering. You can also manage multiple blogs and sites in the Blog app and toggle between them easily.

Blog

While there is a monthly or yearly subscription when you host and manage your site on Squarespace, the Android apps are absolutely free. You can download Squarespace Notes and Squarespace Blog from the Google Play Store.

Hellraid: The Escape arrives on Android

Room escape-themed games have quietly gained a niche of fans, creating a kind of sub-genre for itself. Their fans are the intellectual, puzzle-loving, slow gaming type of people, as evidenced in game titles like “The Room” and “Escape the Room”. But what if an escape game would have a more action-paced bent to it? Well, that would be what “Hellraid: The Escape” is – a solid escape game with its puzzles leaning towards action.

Hellraid has just jumped over the iOS wall to Android, and it’s bringing with it a darker theme to escape games. It’s powered by Unreal Engine, so the game graphics are very well rendered. And when we say “darker”, you will have to expect a lot of gruesome scenes in the game. A LOT.

hellraid1

But wait, the game premise is that you are already dead, right? Yes, so there’s a bit of story behind it – we won’t spoil it for you. As a dead guy, you end up imprisoned by a demon named Crell. You then have to escape these prison cells and chambers, you have to solve puzzles and use the environment – hence it is a for real escape game. And you need solid puzzle-solving skills here as well.

The game is a USD$2.99 download from the Google Play Store, so if you’re up for a bit of puzzle-solving, this might be just worth your time and money. Make sure that you have a device that will be able to run the beautiful 3D graphics of the game, else it will just be a waste of money if not. Check out the source link for the download.
