Hellraid: The Escape arrives on Android

Room escape-themed games have quietly gained a niche of fans, creating a kind of sub-genre for itself. Their fans are the intellectual, puzzle-loving, slow gaming type of people, as evidenced in game titles like “The Room” and “Escape the Room”. But what if an escape game would have a more action-paced bent to it? Well, that would be what “Hellraid: The Escape” is – a solid escape game with its puzzles leaning towards action.

Hellraid has just jumped over the iOS wall to Android, and it’s bringing with it a darker theme to escape games. It’s powered by Unreal Engine, so the game graphics are very well rendered. And when we say “darker”, you will have to expect a lot of gruesome scenes in the game. A LOT.

But wait, the game premise is that you are already dead, right? Yes, so there’s a bit of story behind it – we won’t spoil it for you. As a dead guy, you end up imprisoned by a demon named Crell. You then have to escape these prison cells and chambers, you have to solve puzzles and use the environment – hence it is a for real escape game. And you need solid puzzle-solving skills here as well.

The game is a USD$2.99 download from the Google Play Store, so if you’re up for a bit of puzzle-solving, this might be just worth your time and money. Make sure that you have a device that will be able to run the beautiful 3D graphics of the game, else it will just be a waste of money if not. Check out the source link for the download.
