Sony outs ‘world’s slimmest’ in the Xperia Z4 Tablet at MWC

One of the highlights of the Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona will surely be Sony Mobile’s event where it plans to unveil a number of products. At the forefront will be the new Xperia Z4 Tablet, which will replace the Xperia Z2 Tablet as Sony’s premier flagship tablet device. Boasting of a super-slim design and a vibrant 2K display, this new tablet will surely catch your eye.

The Xperia Z4 Tablet is uber-slim at just 6.1mm – possibly the slimmest of its kind. It sports a 10.1-inch 2K resolution display (1080x2048) that should be the crowning glory of this device. If you’ve ever been amazed by the image quality in 1080p, imagine images and videos in twice that resolution. This vibrant display will be powered by an octa-core and 64-bit capable Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, which makes this the second major device to use Qualcomm’s newest processor (the first was LG’s G Flex 2).

The tablet is built with LTE connectivity and 32GB of internal storage. The tablet is optimized as a multimedia platform, what with that stunning display that will give you great viewing angles even in daylight outdoors. The tablet uses patented Sony technology for its cameras, an 8MP rear camera and a 5.1MP wide angle camera in the front for selfies.

As expected, the tablet is IP68 rated for water and dust resistance. It also features PS4 Remote Play, so you can use it as display for your PS4 games. All of this is powered by a robust 6,000mAh battery (wow!), a level of battery power that we haven’t seen so much in other tablets of this kind. This power supply should ensure that users get as much time to play around with the tablet and its humongous 2K display. The tablet will be coming to US shores soon, but there is no information yet on the pricing.
