Panasonic DMC-CM1 Android camera to hit UK in limited number

Panasonic has announced that it has a new digital camera that will finally be landing in the UK, at least in limited numbers. The camera is the DMC-CM1 and it is powered by the Android operating system. Initially the CM1 was expected to launch in France and Germany only.

There was strong enough demand in the UK that Panasonic will bring a limited number of cameras to the UK starting on December 1. It’s unclear exactly how limited the camera will be. The CM1 uses a 1-inch sensor, which is the same sensor that is found in the DMC-FZ1000 flagship bridge camera that Panasonic offers.

Thanks to the Android operating system, the camera has a lot of smart connectivity features. Integrated 4G/LTE connectivity means that the camera can share photos to just about any site you can think of on the go without WiFi. Video fans can record 4K video using the camera and it will also shoot raw format images.

CM1 cameras can be purchase online in the UK and at certain retailers starting on December 1. The screen is a 4.7-inch unit with full HD resolution. Android 4.4 KitKat is the operating system and internal storage is 16GB. MicroSDXC cards up to 128GB are supported for storage expansion.
