Decode the quotes with Next Quote for Android

Has it always been your secret dream to travel back in time to work as a codebreaker during World War II or in the present time, to work for the CIA and help in creating and/or breaking coded messages from around the world? If your answer is yes, then you have to start practicing for the eventuality that someday, you might be called upon to serve your country. Next Quote would be the perfect app to practice on, and be inspired by great thinkers on the side.

Next Quote - What's The Quote has a simple purpose, and that is to give you quotes from the best writers, philosophers, former US Presidents, and heck, even a few comic book superheroes thrown here and there. But before you can discover their messages, you have to break the cryptogram that they come in. This game has over 500 quotes, phrases and aphorisms that you have to discover simply by making legible the illegible code that they have been put in.

Lest you think you have all the time in the world, there is actually a timer so the pressure will be on. If ever you get stuck in certain areas, there are (limited) hints to help you along. If you're feeling competitive, then you can battle it out with online friends and even strangers. And of course, once you've broken the code, you can share the quotes on your social networks.

So are you excited to get inspiration from Steve Jobs, Batman, Edgar Allan Poe, Mark Twain, George RR Martin, etc? You can download Next Quote from the Google Play Store for free. There are in-app purchases also available.

LG G Flex2 undergoes extreme endurance test and (mostly) survives

Some tech websites simply love to run (torture) endurance tests on all the latest gadgets not because they have money to burn, but of course to test out the durability of devices for us consumers that can't afford to attempt to destroy smartphones or tablets. Although of course the tests they put on the devices are extreme, it may mimic the real-life situations that these gadgets may undergo once they are in our care. Full Mag this time chose to do endurance tests on the new LG G Flex2.

One of the key features of this new curved smartphone from LG is its "self-healing" properties, which means its soft plastic back cover absorbs the bumps and shocks that it will endure. They sought to test this out with three endurance tests. The first test showed the phone dropped from a height of 1 meter and then quickly plunged into water. Of course, you have to expect that the LG G Flex2 will survive this simple test and it did. Note that this device doesn't have waterproof certification so that drop into the water needed to be just a split second. The second test is a bit harder, with the phone being run over by a truck. It is positioned face down when the vehicle ran it over, and somehow it was still usable. However, the screen had really severe cracks, so even if it does survive, you'd probably have to get that screen replaced.

The most extreme of the tests is the one where they attempted to just graze the phone with a 50 caliber rifle. However, it didn't just graze the smartphone, but in fact hit it almost directly, and sure enough, the LG G Flex2 got obliterated. The only semi-surviving part was a piece of the backing cover. It's pretty understandable that it didn't survive, so don't expect to have an intact smartphone when you somehow get caught in the crossfire.

The LG G Flex2 is a 5.5-inch full HD screen device that runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 and has 2GB of RAM and either a 16 or 32GB of storage. It's now available in the US market on Sprint and US Cellular and coming soon to AT&T.

Google launches Cloud Console app (beta) for developers on the go

If you're an app or program developer and you're traveling somewhere where you don't have access to your desktop, you can have some anxious moments, particularly when something has gone wrong and you need to fix something quickly. If you're hosting your project on Google's Cloud Platform, you now have a mobile solution for that. The tech giant has launched the beta version of the Cloud Console app, which lets you manage said projects even while you're on the go.

On a basic level, the Cloud Console lets you check on the status of your apps, receive alerts for when there are problems or issues, and also manage your performance stats and your resources from the Cloud Platform. If there are incidents on your app or program, you'll also be able to track them through Cloud Monitoring. And if you have a team working for or with you, you can also update them on the status of the issue and what is being done or what should be done.

The App Engine and Compute Engine instances can also be viewed and managed from the app. You can see the details and the graphs, and you'll also be able to do such operations like starting or stopping an instance or even changing the App Engine version.

Since as we mentioned, the app is still in beta version, Google will still be collecting feedback and data from the users in order to better improve the app and to add new features as well. You can download Cloud Console for free from the Google Play Store.
