The NVIDIA SHIELD Holiday bundle has a bundle within the bundle

Yep, you heard us right. It’s a meme waiting to happen, but we’ll set that aside for a moment. What’s important is that you can now get the NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet, the NVIDIA wireless game controller, and a bundle of games all for USD$399.

First you get a great gaming tablet, because that’s what the NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet is – we’ve said it before, we’ll say it again, this is probably the best gaming tablet you can get out in the market today. Granted that you’ll have to pay premium for it, but that’s what it costs to have the best specs. It’s primed with the Tegra K1 processor, still one of the baddest mobile procs out there today.

Then you get the NVIDIA wireless mobile controller for all your gaming needs. And then NVIDIA put a bundle within the bundle – buyers of this holiday treat will get three classic Valve games: Portal, Half-Life 2, and Half-Life 2: Episode One, which we mentioned was optimized specifically for the SHIELD Tablet.

So, are you planning to splurge on something nice for yourself this holiday season? NVIDIA’s Holiday Bundle makes it difficult for it not to be part of your options for gaming.

Samsung Galaxy S6 rumored to have curved display on both sides

Some people think it funny putting out rumors like this – that Samsung’s next flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S6, will have curved displays running on both sides. We’ll treat it like any other rumor we get – it’s possible, but we’ll have to wait on whether it will be probable or not.

The rumor goes that the Samsung Galaxy S6 will take the best things out of the Galaxy Note Edge and the new Samsung A Series – that it will have curved displays running on both its right and left edges, and that it will sport an aluminum shell. The Galaxy Note Edge, quirky though it may be, has been relatively well received. The A Series, on the other hand, has made it clear to the world that yes, Samsung can make metal-bound devices.

The logic behind the rumor is given more fuel by the flagging sales of the current flagship, the Galaxy S5, and that Samsung is looking for something new to amaze the global market and regain its place as the top smartphone seller bar none.

MWC-2015

What do we say about it? Well, just because something could be done doesn’t mean it should be done, or that it will be done. Samsung is scheduled to unveil the Galaxy S6 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in March 2015. There are still a good 2 months where we’re sure more details about the Galaxy S6 will come out – and maybe put this funny rumor to rest. Or prove us wrong.

Gresso Regal Black Edition made from titanium packs 5.0-inch screen

Gresso has been making very expensive smartphones for years now and the company has added another new model to its high-end line. The smartphone is called the Gresso Regal Black Edition. The skeleton of the smartphone is titanium that is coated with black PVD and then features inserts made of shiny gold.

The good news with this Gresso device is that it actually packs some nice hardware inside. Typically, you are only paying for the looks of the Gresso device. The Regal Black Edition has a 5-inch screen and full HD resolution. It has 2GB of RAM and internal storage is 32GB.

The rear camera has 13MP resolution while the front is a 5MP snapper. One of the things this phone lacks is support for LTE. In this day and age, a device without LTE is annoying for most users. It's unclear what processor is used, but it is a 1.5GHz quad-core unit.

The PVD coating over the Grade 5 titanium means that the case will resist scratches and is strong but light. The 18K gold insert can be had in yellow or white gold and has the Gresso name and the number of the device. Only 999 will be made at a price starting at $3000 with no insert and no PVD coating. The R1 and R3 models start at $5,000 with PVD and inserts.

Exiles dares you to make your escape from an “alien” world

Science fiction and role-playing games fans, listen up. Crescent Moon, the creators of Ravensworld: Shadowland brings you a new Android game that is set in a world where you have to escape from colonizers with a corrupt government (not too far fetched from the present day yes?) out to stop you. Welcome to the world of Exiles.

The game is set in the future on a colony in a distant planet, where the government has learned to enslave and isolate its people with a lethal virus that will eventually wipe out the planet. Your goal as one of the Elite Enforcers is to uncover the plot to enslave the rest of the world through alien forces and mecha weapons. You get to go on missions to fight these enemies, using a large arsenal of weapons of course.

The world you're moving in is full of "alien hives, underground temples, and caves" and has a lot of interior locales in the massive colony you're in. You get to choose your character from among three different classes, and you have the option of playing a male or female (regardless if you're actually male or female). You get to ride mechs and hoverbikes to make your traveling easy, and upgrade your weapons to make the killing more convenient as well.

The alpha version of this game was originally part of a Humble Bundle from Crescent Moon, a few weeks ago, and now you can enjoy it in its full release glory. You can get Exiles from the Google Play Store for $6.99. It's a bit more expensive than most games, but there are no in-app purchases necessary anymore.

Monster Dash returns: more monsters, weapons, better Barry

The Barry Steakfries Trilogy, which consists of Jetpack Joyride, Age of Zombies, and Monster Dash, have long been a cure for boredom and also a cause of unproductivity. Monster Dash is now finally available on Android and has been upgraded with even more monsters to kill, better weapons to kill them with, and a more dashing Barry to kill them all.

Monster Dash is a side-scrolling, running adventure game where your only purpose in that digital life is to kill as many monsters as you can, while getting all the gold that they are carrying. The gold you get is then used to upgrade Barry as the game progresses along. You get to chase them, jumping through chasms and portals, across six different worlds, which have their own "classic monster" themes like vampires, mummies, etc.

You get to use various weapons and vehicles to help you in killing all the monsters you come across. Get weapons like The Pacifier, Rocket Launcher, Mr. Zappy and then all-terrain rides like the HOG and Machine Gun Jetpack. Daily events also give you the chance to take on challenges and get prizes to help you in playing the main game. In terms of its look and graphics, developer HalfBrick Studios is consistent enough with its blockish cartoon-type of imagery.

You can get Monster Dash from the Google Play Store for only $0.99. There are several in-app purchases available, including the classic monster chasers from Ghostbusters, which will set you back another $1.99. But hey, it's a classic and nostalgia for it is pretty high, so you might want to add it to your Monster Dash content.
