Huawei P8 Lite gets TENAA certification

There were some rumblings early in the year about a “lite” version of the Huawei P8 – a “flagship killer” from one of China’s stronger competitors in the smartphone business. From what this new certification shows us, the Huawei P8 Lite should be unveiled at the upcoming London event of the Chinese manufacturer in April 15, if all things go well. As the name implies, we could see a smaller, toned down version of the flagship device.

The certification from TENAA – China’s FCC parallel – confirms the existence of such a device. As a bonus, they usually post pictures of devices they certify, and today we’re getting a good look at the Huawei P8 Lite. Check out the images below to get a feel for this new Huawei offering.

From what we could gather from the certification data, the Huawei P8 Lite will sport a a 5-inch HD (720p) display powered by an octa-core 1.2GHz Kirin 620 CPU. That will be supported by 2GB RAM along with 16GB of internal storage. There will be a 13MP/5MP camera combo.

The TENAA data is usually light on the specs, so we expect more data to come in soon as the launch date nears. At this point, we can say it’s a bit smaller than the rumored 5.2-inch screen of the Huawei P8. The processor is also lighter than the octa-core Kirin 930 processor of the “flagship” unit.
