Vivo X5Max+ unveiled at MWC with a bigger battery

MWC 2015 is still underway and that means a slow trickle of new devices are still breaking cover at the show. One of those new devices that launched is from Vivo and it is called the X5Max+. The difference between the existing X5Max and the X5Max+ is the size of the battery.

The new version has a bigger battery than the original with a 2300mAh power cell under the hood. As you might expect, adding in a bigger battery does make the phone gain some weight. The X5Max+ is 5.1mm thick, up from 4.45mm in the original.

The Max+ gets a MT6752 processor and 2GB of RAM. One of the complaints that users had with the original X5Max was poor battery life and this update should address that issue. The bigger battery apparently isn't increasing the price of the device; it will sell for 2998 yuan or about $480 here in the states.

The metal frame remains on the X5Max+ and it still has the metal buttons. The screen is 5.5-inches with a resolution of 1920 x 1080. Internal storage is 16GB with a microSD slot for expansion. The OS is Android 4.4.4 overlaid with Funtouch OS 2.0 UI.
