Pixelman brings retro gaming to Android

Being a child of the 80s, I have fond memories of sitting around with friends playing pixilated games. We thought the graphics were great back then, but compared to today's games graphics were terrible in the 80s. Android gamers have a new game to check out that has the pixilated retro look called Pixelman.

The game has players playing as the flying titular character trying to save the citizens of Pixville from Baron Von Pixel. Controlling the character is simple; players tap to go up and release to go down.

A swipe forward makes the character fly faster. It sounds a lot like Flappy Bird to me and the goal is to avoid obstacles and save people and pets in the city. If you rescue more than five people or pets in a row, you get combo mode and get extra points.

The game is offered in a free version that is supported by ads. A paid version of the game that ditches ads is also offered. That paid version will set you back 99 cents. The game is 7.6MB in size and is on version 1.0.2. Android 2.3 and higher is supported and the game is rated E.
