Chromecast finally gains Hulu Plus support

It’s been quite a while since we’ve seen any stirrings from the Chromecast nest, but now that we do, it’s all good news. Google‘s media streaming dongle, which has gone back in stock recently, is now adding Hulu Plus to its list of officially supported services.

We first got word of Hulu coming to the Chromecast in August, when Hulu representative Meredith Kendell mentioned that they were actively working with Google to bring Hulu Plus to the platform. That partnership has finally paid off today. And as we’ve guessed back then, the feature will only be available for Hulu subscribers on the Plus level.

Just in time for the fall season, Hulu Plus subscribers will now be able to watch their favorite shows by casting it from their Android device to a TV via the Chromecast HDMI device. The app will feature a Cast button that brings an easy one-tap process for streaming their shows. Google has created a short video advertisement for the new feature, which you can watch below.

The Hulu Plus app needs to be updated first in order for the Cast button to appear. The update is now rolling out and should be hitting users soon. In the meantime, Hulu Plus subscribers who don’t have a Chromecast yet can still purchase one from Google, Amazon, or Best Buy online and local stores.
