Sony may not have unveiled a new Xperia Z4 smartphone at MWC last week, which all the more confounded many industry observers, but it wants everyone to know that it still means serious business in the mobile market. That is why with its video ads for the Xperia Z4 Tablet, it is emphasizing on two different yet complementary features. The tablet claims to be the world's thinnest and lightest 10-inch slab, and it is precisely because of it's portability that makes it ideal for mobile warriors.
Sony definitely didn't skimp on the specs for its 2015 premiere tablet. There's that 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 running inside, powered by a healthy serving of a 6,000 mAh battery. And the screen might be the former "conventional" 10.1-inch size, but it has 2K resolution right there. And it has that usual touch of Sony dust and water resistance, the highest IP68 to be exact.
All of those are crammed inside a slim and lightweight body, which is one of the highlights that Sony doesn't want us to forget. At 6.1 mm thin, it beats titleholder Dell, whose Venue 8 7000 follows closely at 6.4 mm. And, depending on the presence of an LTE modem, the tablet could either weigh 392 or 396 g. How light is that? Light enough for the tablet to be carried away by 6 helium-filled balloons. Not the kind you can buy off the street mind you.
But don't belittle the tablet, despite it's almost empty feel. Since it is running Android inside, you can expect the same selection of apps that make the device fit not just for content consumption but even for more serious uses. And with equally slim and light BKB50 Bluetooth Keybaord, the Xperia Z4 Tablet lets you take your office with you any time, anywhere.
