Google is apparently working on a new app that will help you get information about managed events such as conferences and symposiums. While a few images have turned up showing screen shots from the app, Google isn’t offering up any details on the app at this time.
All we know about the app has to be gleaned from the images for now. The images seem to indicate that the app will help people check into symposiums and conferences. Attendees will also be able to use the app to receive information about the event such as agendas, schedules, and the venue for events.
I could see this being a big help at large events such as CES. One of the things we don’t know about the app right now is how exactly the people managing the events will add content to the app for attendees to use. Presumably, there is some sort of web-based tool for that.
We aren’t sure who leaked the images of this app. When users log into the app right now there is a greeting that says don’t share it with non-Googlers and don’t discuss the app externally. Someone didn’t listen.
