New Moto G coming to Brazil with LTE, bigger battery

No official announcement has been made yet but a new Moto G could be available in Brazil. Some information was spotted on the Brazilian website of Motorola bearing an LTE connectivity. But that's not the only feature that will impress the people because the LTE G is said to be getting a 2390mAh battery. That's larger than the 2070mAh battery of the standard Moto G smartphone which recently received an Android 5.0 Lollipop update earlier this month.



Looking at the specs, nothing much have changed on the 2nd-gen Moto G with LTE. Also called as LTE G, the phone boasts of the same Gorilla Glass 3 screen with 720p IPS panel. The LTE Moto G is somehow expected in the region because Brazil usually usual gets special Motorola models. Just a few tweaks from the US version and those available in other regions like Europe and Southeast Asia. However, there's information that the new Brazilian version will have the 16GB model as the standard instead of 8GB.


Out of the box, the Moto G will still have Android 4.4.4 KitKat, 1GB RAM, 8MP main camera, 2MP front-facing camera, 1.2 GHz quad-core CPU Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 Processor, WIFI, Bluetooth 4.0, and micro USB connectivity.

There's no information on pricing yet and there's no way you can order one in Brazil yet but at least the Brazilians now know what to expect.

Drawtopia will have you drawing your journey to victory

Draw Something? There's something new exciting than that one. Instead of guessing what the other end has drawn, Drawtopia lets you draw your own way to victory. Android 5.0 build leaked for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3

More and more people are getting themselves excited for their smartphones and tablets to be upgraded to Android 5.0 by their manufacturers, and Samsung users are not exempt from the hype. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 – last year’s flagship phablet – is scheduled to get a bump to Lollipop, but lo and behold, here we have a Lollipop build leaked for the device.



The build leaked at XDA developers forum is for the Galaxy Note 3 SM-9005 model and weighs in at a hefty 1.1GB. The build is taken from the “N9505XXUGBNL8” software bundle. The build hasn’t gone live yet, and is probably not official, but most of the features work – all the Android 5.0 experience and a re-built Touchwiz – this late into Samsung’s software development process.

The update should be pretty straightforward for those who know how to flash with Odin software, a common tool for those who like tweaking their devices. We will again remind you that flashing your device with the new software build will delete the data partitions of your device – so it is important for you to make a backup of your device and data before you go through with it.

Island Castaway: Lost World arrives on Android

After being very popular with iOS tablet users the free-to-play strategy game Island Castaway: Lost World now arrives at the Google Play Store to work its charms on Android users as well. With the multitude of choices for F2P games out there, this app better bring it’s a game to make it big over Android.



The Castaway series of games have been mildly popular for iPad users in a sort of “fun-but-expensive” way. The arrival of a free-to-play version seems a very wise move as they move towards the Android market. Vaio working on Android handsets, to compete with former parent Sony

Sony's very own Vaio laptop unit will soon be a rival of the mother company as the latter will join the mobile industry and introduce smartphones. This means Sony and Vaio will be competing in the same arena. The former laptop brand of the Japanese manufacturer is currently working with mobile carrier Japan Communications to offer its first smartphone in the country early in 2015. As the two brands go head to head, we'll see who is the best in making Android phones.



Sony still has a 5 percent stake in Vaio. The parent company sold majority of the Vaio shares back in July to an investment fund. This is part of Sony's efforts to restructure and rebuild its electronics business. But in a weird twist of fate, it's being challenged as Vaio recently designed a 5-inch Android phone.


The Vaio Android phone will run an app that can manage emails, and phone and video calls. No mention on who will be manufacturing the phone but it will be outsourced to several electronic manufacturing companies according to Vaio. Vaio and Japan Communications hope this will be a success especially that its pricing will be lower than Sony and other major brands. Vaio's phone won't be in the low-priced category though but it will be affordable.


The yet-to-be-named and yet-to-be-priced handset will be sold through e-commerce sites, information system developers, electronics retailers, and other sales channels of Japan Communications. Vaio may be late to join the smartphone bandwagon but the company believes it will be able to capture a percentage of the market with handsets that are affordable yet boast of superior design and impressive specs. We'll see how Vaio will fare in the mobile industry. Will it ever beat Sony? What do you think?
