BOLT² is a back-up battery and wall charger in one

If you were a fan of the original Bolt from the guys over at FluxMob but feel like there was still something to be improved on it, then you'll be happy to know that the developers listened to user feedback. They have just launched their new Kickstarter project, the BOLT², which is still a back-up battery and wall charger in one, but with more power, more output and one more USB slot.

Battery problems for smartphones and tablets are a constant cause for concern, especially for mobile users that are often out on the road or somewhere with no wall sockets or charging areas. That is why external batteries, battery extenders and battery casings are making a killing in the market. BOLT² wants a piece of the action, and this time, they're bringing two times everything that was great with their first one. It now has double the capacity, with 6000 mAh which should be a good back-up in case you run out of juice while on the road. Now if you have a wall socket available somewhere, BOLT² should work its magic with speeds up to 2.4A, which is 4x faster than the usual USB ports.

Since the 2.76x2.40 BOLT² now has two USB ports, you can now charge both your smartphone and tablet, either through the wall charger or the extended battery, and it has automatic current distribution as well. The device is also compatible with 100-240v outlets, so no need to bring a converter if you're traveling out of the country. You can also check the status of the device you're charging, or what's left of your back-up battery, with just one push of a button.

The Kickstarter campaign for BOLT² is still ongoing, and they're just a few thousands short of their target of $36,000. They still have 43 days to go, so that should be reached in a day or two. Since the Super Early Bird Special slots are already gone (it was at $35), you just need to shell out $45 to get at least one of the devices. It comes in 3 colors (stealth, argon, or crimson) and estimated shipping date is by July this year.
