HTC rolls out One E9+ phablet in China

This is no longer a rumor but HTC has quietly introduced a new mobile device in the form of the HTC One E9+. It's considered a phablet which we didn't really expect because we've been waiting for an HTC One E9. The latter we've been hearing a lot lately, what with the specs being leaked. We already said that the One E9 might not just be the slightly ugly stepsister anymore because of the features that would come with it.

True enough, HTC has improved on the One E series. The One E9+ phablet (phone-tablet) was recently spotted on HTC's Chinese website bearing a plastic-metal casing. This looks a lot like the latest flagship One M9 but now with a flat design instead of a curved back. The display is a 5.5-inch Quad HD screen with 534 ppi and 1080p resolution.

HTC One E9+ is also believed to run a 64-bit Mediatek octa-core 2GHz MT6795M chipset and comes equipped with a 16GB built-in storage, microSD card slot for expansion, a powerful 2,800 mAh battery, 3GB RAM, 20 megapixel main camera, UltraPixel camera, dual Nano Sim slots, BoomSound stereo speakers, WiFi, and LTE connectivity.

The HTC One E9+ will be available in three color options: solid black, gray with gold trim, and white with gold trim. No word on pricing or availability yet but it should be ready for release anytime soon not only in China but also in North America, Europe, and the rest of Asia.

As for the HTC One E9, the non-plus version is still expected to arrive almost with the same specs but only with a 13MP main camera and FHD display opposed to the 20MP and WQHD display of the HTC One E9+. These details were shared by @Upleaks over at Twitter together with some images of the yet-to-be-announced One E9.
