Record both ends of your conversation with Bluewire device

There are times when you would legitimately need to record your conversations, whether it's for business purposes or to transcribe an over-the-phone interview. There are very few devices that have this capability, and a Bluetooth headset that is on Kickstarter wants to be your device of choice. Bluewire is a smartphone and VOIP call recorder that can be compatible with any standard Bluetooth device and can easily store and transfer the recorded files onto your smartphone.

Bluewire allows you to record up to 33 feet from your phone, just in case you need to take your call on your Bluetooth device and away from your smartphone. All of the calls you make will be automatically recorded on the device and you'll easily access it through the Bluewire App which you can download from the Google Play Store. After your conversation, all you need to do is tap the device to your paired smartphone and that last call will then be saved on to your mobile device, and just to make sure nothing is lost, it will also be sent to your email inbox.

If you already have a Bluetooth device you're used to, you can still use Bluewire because it is compatible with most of those Bluetooth-enabled headsets. It uses the Qi standard for wireless charging and can also be used as a mini flashlight.

It also comes with a ring to attach to your keyring. This means you can also use it to locate your missing keys with the Find Bluewire button on the app. And if it's the smartphone that you can't locate, you just have to shake your Bluewire and then your phone will ring. Let's just hope you didn't put it on silent mode or else you obviously won't be able to hear it (unless the vibrate mode is loud enough for you to feel/hear it).

The project has already reached its target goal of $10,000. There are still 68 hours to go so if you want to be one of the first to own Bluewire, you can pledge as low as $149 to be able to get this device onto your smartphone and start recording your conversations, legitimately of course.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 giveaway ends this Wednesday [DEALS]

While a lot of attention now has been lavished on Samsung's twin smartphones, the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge, one must not forget that that Korean manufacturer also creates tablets, though not as numerous as smartphones. It has a variety of them, ranging from the very low end to the bigger, "professional" kind. Among these, particularly noteworthy is the Galaxy Tab S generation, claiming to have the highest quality and resolution among tablets of its kind. And now you can get one for free if Lady Luck smiles on you on this Galaxy Tab S 8.4 Giveaway.

What's not to love about the Galaxy Tab S? Sure it may not have the latest Exynos chips that powers the Galaxy S6, but the octa-core 1.9 GHz CPU, paired with 3 GB of RAM would be quite enough. But the real highlight of this tablet is the display and its slim profile. This generation of Samsung's slabs boast of a resolution of 2560x1600. That's a bit more than QHD, WQXGA to be exact, right there! And at only 8.4 inches, that screen's pixel density is quite high. But wait, there's more! The tablet is only 0.26 inches or 6.6 mm thin.

Now you have the chance to grab this tablet for free. Of course, provided you win our sweepstakes. Simply click on the big green ENTER NOW button on our Galaxy Tab S 8.4 Giveaway page to join. Of course, you'll have to create an account first. For more chances of winning, you can share the giveaway on Twitter. No cheating though, as registering multiple email accounts will be grounds for immediate disqualification.

So what are you waiting for? Grab this chance to get a fine, high resolution tablet for absolutely no cost at all in our Galaxy Tab S 8.4 Giveaway. Better hurry though, as registration closes April 1, 2015 at exactly 11:59 p.m. PST.

Huawei P8 details semi-confirmed as specs and pics come to TENAA

You know what they say about TENAA once you come out in the Chinese certification website, all the details included are almost good as confirmed. This will probably be the case with Huawei's new flagship, the P8 as the official unveiling is just a few days away. But the pictures and specs leaked from the website, more or less confirms what has been bandied about and we can expect that the "final product" will more or less have these features and specifications.

While Huawei has not officially announced that the new flagship is going to be the P8, but we can probably trust the details that have been revealed in the TENAA site. There will be six different versions, with three of them carrier-specific. The images show a device that will be a mixture of plastic and metal (as rumored earlier) and that it will have super thin bezels. The earlier reports that it will be just 6mm thick may be probable based on the pictures, but there is no indication as to its exact thinness. The metal part would be the frame and the back finish, and some areas seem to be made of plastic, like the strip around the camera.

gsmarena_002

Interestingly enough, the left side of the device is completely clean, since all the buttons (power, volume, microSD slot, SIM card are all located in the right side. Regarding the inside, it will reportedly run on Hisilicon Kirin range, the 64-bit octa-core Kirin 930 and it will have 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. Display is expected to be at full HD with 10802p resolution. Another rumor that has been floating around is that it will come with dual SIM, which the TENAA site shows it will.

The P8 will be officially announced and unveiled during Huawei's big event on April 15. Of course we'll be updating you more about the smartphone as the date comes closer and even during the date itself, including if it will really be priced at around $480.

MediaTek launches Helio, new SoC brand for premium phones

MediaTek impressed the market earlier this month at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona by launching the MT6753 chipset with ‘WorldMode’ LTE. We also heard a rumor that the company is in talks with Samsung. We have no idea about what the two could be working on but this week, MediaTek proudly introduced its newest SoC brand--the Helio.

The Helio X10 will be used for higher and premium range smartphones. It's officially known as the branded MT6795 but the name SoC Helio X10 is much easier to remember. No need to memorize the MTxxxx reference because MediaTek is simply calling the product Helio X (any number).

This particular product promises excellent and reliable multimedia performance all the time. In other words, it offers extreme performance. The name Helios itself even gives us an idea that it's gonna be powerful just like the Greek Sun god Helios.

The Helio X10 runs on a 2.2GHz 64-bit LTE octa-core chip. It can also bring 120Hz technology into mobile. The new SoC chip brings a smarter image enhancement technology courtesy of the SmartScreen feature. This will also make photos and the phone display brighter even under the sunlight. Chip can also support H.265 encode up to 4K2K 30fps, Super Slow Motion technology, and Instant focus.

Power Clean helps free up memory and storage on your Android device

If your Android smartphone or tablet is not that big when it comes to memory or internal storage, chances are you always run out on either or even both. The cleaner apps that you install sometimes only adds to the problem. A new Android app called Power Clean claims that it will only cost you 1 or 2 megabytes but will help free up memory and storage and improve your smartphone or tablet's performance all in all.

You cannot manually sift through all the files and programs on your phone, but the app will do it for you and clean up your junk files, cache, residual files, download folder, and other things that help bring down your memory. You can also choose to clean your browser history and clipboard content (not because you're hiding something but for memory purposes) and also to remove malicious apps that you may have unwittingly installed. It will also clean the redundant background tasks that may have been slowing your device down.

Power Clean can also serve as an app manager. You can quickly batch uninstall apps that you haven't been using and also remove the pre-installed and system apps that came with your device but you're not really using. If you're really running out of space, it will help you move installed apps from the internal storage to an SD card, which should solve part of your problem. The app will also tell you the reasons why your phone is overheating, which apps are eating up your battery, and other information you need to know about your device.

Power Clean's developer says that it is a 100% Green cleaner and that there are no annoying ads to interrupt you. You can download it for free from the Google Play Store.

Nextbook Ares 11: A 2-in-1 tablet/netbook for under $200

If we asked you what was the 5th largest tablet supplier in the US, would any of you answer E FUN? Probably not, but apparently it is. And now they're making their foray into the hybrid market with their first Android 2-in-1 laptop tablet, the Nextbook Ares 11. While it may not be the high-powered gadget that you've always dreamed of, at least it strives to bring you value for money with its features and functions.

The Nextbook Ares 11 is somewhere in between: it's bigger than a tablet, but smaller than a laptop, with its 11.6-inch tablet with a detachable keyboard. It runs on a Quad-Core Intel® AtomTM Z3735F Processor (X86, 1.8GHz) and it already comes with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop (which is better than a lot of more high-end devices that have yet to receive that update). The detachable keyboard is backlit and comes with two standard USB ports while the touch screen is 1366 x 768 IPS capacitive.

It has just 1GB memory and 64GB internal storage, with the microSD slot capable of supporting up to another 64GB. So this is not something that you can use to install heavy programs or lots of games and multi-media. But it would be perfect for students looking for a simple machine to use for school or casual users that just need word processing or web surfing basic features. You can also watch movies or TV shows through streaming services like VUDU or Flixster, or reading ebooks (the Nook app is preloaded already).

Of course the best part about is that it is just $197 (with some high-end smartphones costing higher than that). You will be able to buy the Nextbook Ares 11 at Walmart stores and online at walmart.com.

Possible Sony Xperia Z4 specs leak via GFXBench

After we discovered that Sony wasn’t launching their new flagship in January, and another letdown as they did not use MWC 2015 in Barcelona this month to unveil said flagship, it has been quiet on all fronts for the upcoming Sony Xperia Z4, at least until today, where we see one of the most ideal leaks – a benchmark leak which shows us most of what we need to know.

First up, the device is coded as the Sony E6553, which apparently translates roughly to Sony Xperia Z4 in code language. So first things first, let’s take a peek under the hood. We see this device not surprisingly powered by Qualcomm’s latest and greatest, the Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor, with Adreno 430 graphics. That will power a 5.1-inch full HD (1080p) display, probably of the Sony TRILUMINOS kind. This will be backstopped by 3GB of RAM.

xperia-z4-benchmark

Then we see a 19MP/4.8MP camera combo. Cameras have always been the strength of the Xperia line, so we can expect these babies to perform as well. Internal storage clocks in at 23GB. The said device, at the moment, runs on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop.

So, no major surprises here – if this is indeed the Sony Xperia Z4. The specs line up to match what we expect to be a flagship device. We have no information yet on when this device will launch, or if this is even the Sony Xperia Z4 to begin with. But the data looks solid at this point.
