One of the only things we like more than leaked details of a new tablet or smartphone around here are leaked details that include benchmark confirmed specs. Benchmarks for the Galaxy Tab S 2 9.7 have hit the web from GFXBench. More important than the benchmarks themselves are the specs the benchmark app gleaned from the tablet.
The benchmark data shows that the SM-T815 version of the tablet will likely feature LTE connectivity while the SM-T810 version is thought to be a WiFi only model. The screen is shown to be a 9.6-inch unit, but in reality, it's expected to be a 9.7-inch Super AMOLED unit.
The resolution of the screen is pegged at 2048 x 1536 with an aspect ratio of 4:3. The processor is an octo-core unit running at 1.9 GHz thought to be an Exynos 5433. On the back of the tablet is an 8MP camera and the front camera is a 2MP unit. Internal storage is 32GB and the processor is paired with 3GB of RAM.
The OS is Android 5.0.2 and it is expected to be overlaid with a new version of TouchWiz. The smaller 8-inch version of this tablet is expected to have the same specs in a smaller body with a smaller battery to boot. One of the big features of the tablet will be a thin profile of 5.4mm making it thinner than other tablets.
