Google seems to be happy with Chrome OS that it regularly updates the platform. Just a couple of months ago, the search giant added seven more Android apps to the OS. Before that another update for Stable Channel was released with MTP. Recently added is Remote Desktop sharing and without leaving Chrome, you can now run Linux in another window.
Google has not fully launched the new features because the two are still under development but it shows that Chrome OS may be heading a new direction. Soon enough, Chrome OS may be able to send files from an SD card or external drive straight to a cloud storage too. Google Drive may get files from a Chrome OS-powered notebook to save directly on cloud. This may also include management feature for uploads although we're not sure about this one yet.
The feature is known this early as 'cloud import'. This eliminates some steps in doing cloud uploads from a Chromebook. Simply put, it's like automatically syncing files from one mobile device to a cloud storage. But instead of loading the files from an SD card to the computer then to the cloud, you may skip the desktop part so it becomes SD card (or external drive) straight to Google Drive.
Let's wait for Google to make an official announcement as we're not really sure if the said feature will become a reality. Let's just wait and see.
