The team behind this epic RPG called “The Shadow Sun” had a lot of gaming cred behind them, having designed that highly enjoyable Neverwinter Nights 2 expansion “Mysteries of Westgate”. But the game was announced in 2010, and it took a while for it to get here. Now, it’s completely blown up (in a good way) on iOS and serious Android gamers are finally going to have a crack at it.
This is not your usual mobile RPG of the casual gaming type – the game was designed to emulate the depth of PC RPG gaming. “With The Shadow Sun, our goal was to make a high quality RPG for mobile devices in the spirit of the classics from PC and console,” Alan Miranda, CEO of Ossian Studios. “We are thrilled to bring the game to Android gamers.”
The game requires some robust graphics chips, so this might be one for the higher end devices. But it’s definitely worth it, with serious gamers being wowed by the rich story and gameplay, the huge world the game resides in, and the immersive and numerous side-quests available to players of the game.
The Shadow Sun is available for the download price of USD$4.99. But trust us, if you are the hardcore RPG gaming type, this will be one of the most enjoyable games you could have on a mobile platform.
