The Wolf Among Us now available on Google Play Store

If you enjoyed the award-winning Fables graphic novel series and you have an Android device, then this is a game you should definitely have on your smartphone or tablet. The Wolf Among Us is an offshoot from that series and this game was developed by the same guys that brought you The Walking Dead game. Even though this is a point and click game and not an action one, it is still very much for mature audiences due to the subject matter and the violence and gore within the game.

Bigby Wolf is not the Big Bad Wolf from your fairy tales. He is part human and full-time detective, investigating a series of brutal murders in Fabletown, which is where all the fairy tales (and nursery rhymes) have come to live, if you're still not familiar with the mythology of Fables. But even if you've not read the comic books, this game will still hook you in and might even lead you to read the books afterwards. You can control Bigby by clicking on items and navigating conversations as he interviews suspects, witnesses and would-be victims.

The visuals of the game are brilliant, as you would expect nothing less based on The Walking Dead games the developers had previously created. The game was actually previously available for Android but only through the Amazon Appstore, which some found to be mildly inconvenient.

The game has five chapters, with the first one available for free download from the Google Play Store. Chapters 2-5 can be purchased within the app itself. Again, this is not a game for children, as the mature take on fairy tale characters might end their childhood or traumatize them for life.
