Verizon Optimus Exceed 2 is the LG L70 in disguise

Verizon has done it again. It has taken one of LG's low-cost offerings and renamed it, this time christening the LG L70 as the second generation Optimus Exceed 2.

June last year, Verizon pulled off a similar move and renamed the LG Lucid as the first Optimus Exceed. This time around, the Optimus Exceed 2 is one of the earliest members of LG's brand new budget-friendly L series III line. As such, it has almost the same specs as the L70 that has arrived on MetroPCS' shelves. You've got the 4.5-inch display with 800x480 resolution, a 1.2 GHz dual core processor, 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB of internal storage, a 5 megapixel rear camera, and Android 4.4 right off the bat.

Well, it almost has the same features. Perhaps in order to cut down on costs, which, in turn, enables it to offer the handset at a low price, Verizon's Optimus Exceed 2 does not have the same 4G network support that the actual LG L70 has. Aside, from that, however, you get the same features, even on the software side, like Quick Memo, QSlide multi-tasking, and, of course, the beloved Knock Code.

Verizon is only offering the Optimus Exceed as part its Prepaid lineup, which means no annual contracts. The full retail price is at $249.99, which might not be much, depending on how hard you take the loss of 4G LTE Internet speeds.
