LG G Watch ad tries to whet your Android Wear appetite

LG is giving us another look at its upcoming G Watch via a video ad. But it isn't really saying anything that we don't already know as far as official features go.

Ever since Google revealed Android Wear, LG has been slowly, very slowly, unveiling its own smart timepiece, the LG G Watch. Being one of the first two poster boys for Google's wearable platform, with Motorola being the other, there has been some attention lavished on LG's smartwatch, and the Korean company is only happy to oblige, to some extent.

The LG G Watch sports many of the features you'd find on other smartwatches already in the market, including Samsung's somewhat heretical Gear 2. You have promises of a sleek and comfortable design that will make it suitable for any situation, but also exude a sporty personality by being water, and hopefully sweat, proof. LG is trying to assuage doubters about smartwatches in general by advertising a battery life that will go far on a single charge. Right off the bat, the G Watch will be compatible with hopefully many Android devices, which is already a huge advantage over Samsung's device.

The difference, then, will all depend on Android Wear, which until know hasn't yet taken a more tangible form. And we might not have to wait that long to actually see it for ourselves. LG's French office has practically confirmed a June reveal date, as well as a disappointing 199 EUR price tag. The smartwatch will come in two color options of Midnight Black and the recently revealed Champagne Gold with a white strap.
